Letting the tomatoes have this one last week and 80 degree temps this last weekend was a good decision. Just enough heat to get one more good ripe crop. The purple sweet peppers are so delicious. I made a simple garden salad from the harvest, arugula, black, snow white, sungold, sweet 100's, and coyote cherry tomato and some sweet purple peppers. Of course my cat Chloe had to have the first bite. For dessert I enjoyed local persimmons from a friends tree, just right for a day off from exercise.
Here's an end of year fundraising idea for those with a birthday in the next few weeks: birthday causes on Facebook. Charity, my lovely wife and OrganicAthlete superstar volunteer, has chosen OA as her cause for her 28th birthday.
I'd like to start off by saying that I've fallen in love with Sonoma County. Every time I go outside I'm amazed by the beauty of the landscape. The sunset last night was stellar!

After sending out the latest OrganicAthlete eNews, a reader commented, "...I think it would be wise to keep politics out of the discussion and stay focused on veganism, athletics, and health..."
While the cross-country has started already here in Belgium, I have to wait until the end of December to start my indoor season. I thought there would be about 8 meetings I could do, but 2 of them turned out to be for youth only. So I'll have 6 meets to show that I am faster than last year. The main competition is scheduled for 4 January when I'll do the provincial championships. Maybe I'll combine both 60m and 200m, I'll decide after my first 60 and 200m of the season on 20, 26 and/or 27 December. Hopefully I can get into the final of the 60m.
Everyone's favorite vegan bodybuilder, Kenneth Williams, is set to set the stage tomorrow at the Natural Olympia XI in San Francisco tomorrow, November 8th.
Finally my first OA blog! My first big race as an OA member went well. A little over one year since I became vegan I finished my first Ironman! I met one OA member just before the start and a few other vegans during the race. I was amazed by all of the positive support I received from vegan fans in Madison. The OA uniform really stands out and I'm proud to wear it. Keep up the great work everyone!
