San Diego Chapter

San Diego is a wonderful place.
If you live here it is pretty difficult not to get out at least a little bit here and there and enjoy the great weather and scenery.
If you wanted to, you could go surf or swim in the morning and be mountain biking or hiking at 6,000+ feet at lunch. Or a few minutes further and you'd be out in the desert walking amongst the spring flower blooms.
When you try to think of somewhere with better year round opportunities for physical activity it is hard to come up with many places that beat S.D.!

Fun Easy Group Ride

04/27/2008 - 10:00
04/27/2008 - 11:30

So we're goin' riding on Sunday at 10am. I figure we
could meet at Moment cycle sport in point loma. Apparently there's a
ride around there that's pretty good. It's the san diego international
tri. route. I don't know it by heart but we can discover it together.
I think it's about 20 miles long. Like I said before It'll be a social
ride so not very fast. I also thought that after the ride we could
possibly head down to Rancho's in OB for some lunch if you're up for
it. If you have any questions or some other suggestion's for a meet up

San Diego Chapter at Vertical Hold - climb on!!!

Hello Everyone,

Last weekend, I think, a group of us got the adventurous bug to go to a climbing gym. I hadn't done it in years, so I didn't know how quickly I would get my climbing legs back. Well, after instructions of how to ties the road into our harness, very important, and how to spot or belay our partner while he is climbing, even more important, we got started. After one climb we all warmed up to it. It was very fun and not to expense, only $15, for as long as we wanted to climb. As a side note that $15 is the same cost for one class of yoga.

Motivation

It got nice and hot last weekend here in San Diego! It was 90+ at my place and 80's at the beach. It felt like mid summer! It reminded me of some fun high school summers that involved getting up super early and going surfing, coming home and eating a bunch, then going on a bike ride for a few hours or something, then eating more, then going and  skateboarding at night or going swimming somewhere - basically just not stop exercise and food and good sleep!

Ride To Work - Earth Day

Welp, I did it. I went to bed at 1am last night, then got up at 6 and rode the ~ 23 miles in to work. It was a nice morning, not too cold. There's a big hill that I have to go down right when I start the ride and sometimes it gets pretty chilly. Not this morning, though. My legs felt like jello when I got to work like I thought they would. I haven't been riding much at all lately but I surprised myself on the ride home back up the big hill. I did pretty well.
