Not walking, but racing and flying -naturally and moral dilemma

It's the eve of my skydiving 'career', reaching to flying fast from 13,500 feet
naturally powered by gravity and air cooled, while I free fall at 120mph
to deploy a parachute for a 3 minute flight with it down to Earth,
to do it again.

Expressing myself while 'falling' at high speeds,
the concentration involved and mental training necessary
to become proficient at this artistic sport,
fueled by my childhood dream of flying "when I grow up",
has brought me to a moral dilemma.

I need to get up there, jet fuel is consumed
quite rapidly.
Each dive is a 5 to 7 min. climb (but of course the plane must come down
making it a 10 to 14 min. ) jet fuel emissions 'cost' to our environment.

This consumption is shared between 15 to 18 sky divers each load the plane flies.
Giving me a personal consumption of approx. 8 min. each weekend if I dive twice per day.
( I used to dive 3 times a day)

Of course if I was to travel to other races, events
I am using up resources,
but this is a sport which uses up resources by virtue of participation.
Also, traveling to other sporting events I've always utilized public transportation -buses and trains typically.

Quite a difficult situation I find myself in.

First step is that I will limit my dives to 2 each time I go to the Parachute School of Toronto, drop zone to sky dive.
Secondly I will immediately consider all sources of resource
expenditure in my home and try to see how much I can offset this activity,
by removing other resource expenditures where ever I can.

From there I need to think more, on how I feel about this.

Thanks

Thanks to the OA members who had me in their thoughts the last few weeks.

Im recovering now at home without the pacemaker they threatened me with, and trying desperately to detoxify my body from the series of medical procedures and chemicals placed within me (from antibiotics, radio-active dye, to hospital food 'labelled' as 'vegetrian' but filled with junk!).

I'm back to my home made Vega shakes and will be up to training and racing this spring with positive energy and determination.

Thanks all fo your support, and thanks Bradley for your patience on the long over due book review.
