Organic Olympian Lifestyle - Integrating Sports and Sustainability
The resolution adopted by the Fourth IOC World Conference on Sport and the Environment on November 4, 2001, in Nagano-City, Japan states that "the principles of sustainable development are also the responsibility of the Olympic Movement and of the sports community, particularly as the environment is one of the three dimensions of Olympism." "Convinced that sport is universally recognized as a powerful agent for change," the resolution, "urges all the members of the Olympic Movement, all participants in sport and enterprises associated with sport to continue and intensify their efforts in implementing environmental, economic and social sustainability in all of their policies and activities."
OrganicAthlete looks beyond "sustainability" towards solutions that regenerate the earth and restore social equity and justice.
