Organic by Bicycle: Tour d'Organics Features Organic Food and Local Farms |

OrganicAthlete, a nonprofit organization, is organizing the 1st annual Tour d'Organics in Northern California. On August 21st, 2005, bicyclists from around the world are invited to enjoy the ripe fruits and beautiful countryside of Sonoma County. Starting in Sebastopol, the 25, 62.5 and 100 mile routes will connect organic farms in the area, where riders can feast on berries, melons, peaches and other delicious fruits straight from the field. After the ride, riders will be treated to a vegan buffet.
The goal of the event is both fun and education. Bradley Saul, former professional cyclist and ride director, says, “The Tour d’Organics brings together two things I’m really passionate about: riding bikes and healthy, organic food. This is a great opportunity for cyclists and fitness enthusiasts to learn more about how they can help the environment and fuel their bodies with organic food.”
