Board of Directors

Bradley Saul

Bradley is the founder and president of OrganicAthlete. Currently residing in Sebastopol, CA, Bradley is a former professional cyclist with a passion for organic foods, healthy living, and ecological sanity. Early in his athletic career, Bradley realized that sport can and should bring about positive changes in our society, but that little was being done about it. Last year Bradley redirected his energies from racing and training to developing OrganicAthlete.

Bradley says: "The cheers and support I have received from so many athletes tells me the time is right for OrganicAthlete and that my athletic, business, and spiritual commitment is headed in a healthy direction. I thank for your support of OrganicAthlete."

Nanci Hibschman

Nanci Hibschman hails from deep inside the red territory marked by a boundary known only as "the Orange Curtain." Despite being raised in an area better known for its SUV's, gated communities and republican barbeques, Nanci has emerged as a stand out woman, staunch liberal, committed vegan and animal rights activist. With a background in management consulting, and currently focusing on not-for-profits, Nanci brings a wealth of experience to the board and a unique perspective not only on the status of OA as a not-for-profit but also on its strengths and challenges as it grows. Nanci exemplifies the OA ideal by combining her compassionate diet and lifetsyle with an abiding love of triathlon.

Justin Lucke

Justin started racing mountain bikes in 1989 and a passion for sport just grew from there. From serving as president of his college cycling club, to sponsorship coordinator for the 3BRT, to serving on the board of advisors for the Nor Cal High School Mountain Bike Racing League, Justin's experience in cycling has run the gamut. Outside of cycling, Justin is a member of the California Bar, having practiced law for four years. Though he worked in two prestigious firms, Justin left the cloistered life of the firm lawyer behind to persue his life long ambition of racing professionally.
Justin says: "OrganicAthlete is all about integrating into the community. We want to raise global awareness about plant-based living by starting with the people around us. More than just education, however, we also see local business, government, agriculture, school groups, everyone really, playing a role in supporting the mission."

Wes McGaughey

Wes McGaughey is a young San Franciscan who has been involved in a multitude of community advocacy projects. He founded San Francisco College Democrats before leaving the Democratic Party for the Green Party. He’s worked for the STOP Aids Project, California State Senator Jackie Speier and currently works at the research institute at California Pacific Medical Center studying biomedical ethics. In college, he was heavily involved in student government, helping to pass legislation statewide that dealt with everything from land lord-tenant rights to the establishment of Cesar Chavez Day to fiscal policies. He’s a self-described “near vegan” who’s only sport is softball (for now anyway). He plays each season for fun in the San Francisco Gay Softball League; usually on a different team each season and usually left field.
Wes says: “The agri-business industry has kept this country blind for far too long. I have complete faith that OrganicAthlete will bring insight into the realities of health and nutrition to the people in the athletic communities, and later, the entire citizenry.”
