Backpacking in Point Reyes National Seashore was an amazing adventure. Randi, Andy, Justin, Charity and Jane hike into Wildcat Camp from the Bear Valley visitors center to experience camping off Drakes Bay. Activities included moonlit night walk on the beach, beach running, hike to area lakes, water falls, and ocean vista's, skinny dipping and rope swing into lake. I have the bare monkey boy (Andy) captured on photo swinging out over the lake, I will spare you with that photo, although I was tempted it's really quite good.

As far as I can remember, I have always loved the woods. Growing up, the woods are where I liked and wanted to play. My friends and I would follow a small river/creek through the woods near our neighborhood. For hours we would explore the woods and the creek. We would look for snakes, turtles, squirrels, or any wild life, make-up games, build forts (more than one) and tree houses, skip rocks, fish (very little), swim, bike, play Army, Ninja, and more.
Jennifer Hamblen, a watershed scientist by training, is uniting her passions of climbing mountains and working to provide drinking water to communities in need. She'll climb Nevado Sajama, the highest mountain in Bolivia at 6,542 meters (21,458 feet) to raise money for the US-based nonprofit TERRA Resource Development International which provides drinking water, sanitation, and environmental education through its projects in Bolivia.
I want to personally thank Alex Hershaft for inviting me and OA Pro-Activists Jeremy Moore and Robert Cheeke. The AR Conference is an opportunity for AR activities to come together annually and share success stories, challenges and strategies. Over the years Alex has increasingly added nutrion/health and environmental-related information and the addition of high level athletes only boosts this strategy. I personally look forward to attending again in the future as I learned an incredible amount just that weekend.

With this being just my second race after a knee injury sidelined me for a few weeks, I wasn't sure what to expect; however, I'd been training hard and hoped to finish below 1 hour, 30 minutes -- as an Advanced speed skater (the category below pro), this is often a reasonable goal to set.
