So last night I stayed up late and completed my training plan leading up the marathon. Here are my goals for the next 14 weeks.
Primary Goal: Boston Qual (3:10)
Goal Time: 3:00
Goal Pace: 6:50/M
Secondary Goals:
-build base cycling fitness in prep. for
Spring Collegiate cycling season
-improve swimming efficiency (total immersion)
-maintain / build muscle mass (strength training)
Tomorrow is a school holiday so instead of doing homework I ran ALL over Austin posting flyers/pamphlets for OA austin/talking up possible sponsers. Looks like we might get some pretty rad local businesses to lend a hand or discounts for members etc, although nothing official yet.

Over the weekend of August 3rd, 2008, I traveled up to Minnesota to compete in the Saint Paul Inline Marathon (yes, 26.2 miles).
With this being just my second race after a knee injury sidelined me for a few weeks, I wasn't sure what to expect; however, I'd been training hard and hoped to finish below 1 hour, 30 minutes -- as an Advanced speed skater (the category below pro), this is often a reasonable goal to set.
After a discussion with local pro/coach Jamie Cleavland I am closing off my inaguaral tri season with an olympic tri in two weeks and forgoing the 1/2 Ironman in October to focus on collegiate cross country instead. (Being my senior year this will be my last opportunity to be on a college team and have a true XC experience, since I only ran the last race last year)
In tri's swimming is my weakest sport by far so I've been trying to improve a bit.
I now have a new watch with 3 independent alarms on it so I should totally be covered now for waking up for races haha. Officially I got 88th but un-offically (and in my heart) I got 32nd. For the last 30K of the series on the 29th I'm shooting for around 20th but we'll see if anything wacky happens again!
