CXSR #3 was fast and furious. 4 out of 7 get podium spots for OA, how awesome and impressive. Charity rocked the C's with first place, I battled back and forth for the third spot but could not hold on.

Worked on the cross skills yesterday, and finding some frustration with my new candy pedals. It seems my shoe tread is getting hung up at times on the small bit of pedal. I have cut back quite a bit of tread but still not getting clipped in fast enough.... loosing valuable time. I already have a spacer and will add another thanks to Bradley for that. Guess I will cut off some more shoe tread too. Hey any advice from the team would be nice.

I found myself going down memory lane as I reviewed my old photo files. Lost photos no more. Lexie the Wonder Dog was OA mascot for Graton Day Festival while Jurgen, Justin, Andy and I table the festival getting the OA message out there.

Letting the tomatoes have this one last week and 80 degree temps this last weekend was a good decision. Just enough heat to get one more good ripe crop. The purple sweet peppers are so delicious. I made a simple garden salad from the harvest, arugula, black, snow white, sungold, sweet 100's, and coyote cherry tomato and some sweet purple peppers. Of course my cat Chloe had to have the first bite. For dessert I enjoyed local persimmons from a friends tree, just right for a day off from exercise.

Backpacking in Point Reyes National Seashore was an amazing adventure. Randi, Andy, Justin, Charity and Jane hike into Wildcat Camp from the Bear Valley visitors center to experience camping off Drakes Bay. Activities included moonlit night walk on the beach, beach running, hike to area lakes, water falls, and ocean vista's, skinny dipping and rope swing into lake. I have the bare monkey boy (Andy) captured on photo swinging out over the lake, I will spare you with that photo, although I was tempted it's really quite good.

Saturday Oct 4, Doyle Park in Santa Rosa, was the beginning of my first ever cyclocross race. I barely knew what cyclocross was until the monday before when Justin Torrellas gave Andy Bunnell and I a one hour cross clinic on dismounts and remounts. Then wed. I did a little pre-race practice at the park, then off we go on Sat.
It was cool to see Emily Thurston ride up before the race and yell out cool jerseys!

Bradley, Charity, Jurgen and Jane slowly chug out of Sebastopol in the Green Van (OA 2), top speed 59 mph on the largest downhill grade, the flats we cruised at a mellow 43 mph bound for Portland. Departing the OATC around 1pm on Monday, after four fig picking stops, a candlelit dinner at the Red Bluff rest area, we pull into a campground around midnight just below the Mighty Shasta herself. We prowl around with our headlamps, looking for a spot to lay our pads and bags, there was discussion of setting up a tent, we all opted to sleep under the stars... AMAZING!

It's not all work at the OATC...we are all easily entertained as Charity shaves Bradley's head, which turns into a amusing free-for-all for Andy, Justin, Karin, Jurgen and myself.
