The Next 14 weeks

BenjaminPalmer's picture

So last night I stayed up late and completed my training plan leading up the marathon. Here are my goals for the next 14 weeks.

Primary Goal: Boston Qual (3:10)
Goal Time: 3:00
Goal Pace: 6:50/M

Secondary Goals:
-build base cycling fitness in prep. for
Spring Collegiate cycling season
-improve swimming efficiency (total immersion)
-maintain / build muscle mass (strength training)

I'm a very visual person so seeing a plan physically written on a calendar helps alot. I attached the excel document so please feel free and let me know what you think/critique and If I should change anything to help me reach my goals!

Looks like a good solid

Looks like a good solid plan. Planning can be fun for visualizing what we want to achieve. Without knowing how much training you've done in the past, I can't judge the quantity of the training. The only thing I noticed was that there did not seem to be any pure rest days in the calendar. I would recommend this from time to time.

I had a rest week last week and mentally that was tough. I like the training, but I feel so much better for taking the rest. It's especially important, I think, to stay fresh while building your base.

Good luck!

yea I'll probably end up

yea I'll probably end up taking some of those mondays off totally but for now in my head 20 minutes of EZ swimming is penciled in for most, this week may be more of an off week of sorts too to give a rest from XC season before like next week when I'll start voluntarily getting up @ 6AM again.
