End of collegiate running career, a PR, weekend double header and boothing
Saturday Morning was the regional cross country meet and and while I was at the bottom of the pack, I still PR'd, coming in at 38:39, shaving nearly a minute off of a road 10K I did on 10/19. Assuming I don't get a wild hair and go to grad school and run XC then this was the end of my college running career.
To show how much I've improved last year when I just started running and without really practicing with the team at all I raced the conference meet 8K in 36 minutes.... this year I did it in 31:36. Last year I then trained up for the '08 Austin marathon coming in at 3:22, this year ('09 marathon) I'm getting ambitious and shooting for ~3:00, but that's another blog post :)
Sunday morning again got up early, nom'd down on some homemade raw applesauce and had a "recovery" run by racing in the Run for the water 10-miler, coming in at 1:04:56 (6:30 pace), my legs wern't 100% and I was lacking that extra kick but had a good time on the great course and am looking forward to the Decker half marathon on 12/7 which I'll tackle with fresh legs.
Then Sunday afternoon me and Brian boothed for OA at the LSVN vegan chili cookoff and got talking to alot of interested parties, hopefully the TX memberships will start flying in!
