Boston Veg Fest Update
The Boston Veg Fest was a huge success! We had a nice spread of materials and a little bit of merch, but most important I met a ton of awesome people who are down with OA and its message. It was such a refreshing experience to meet folks from all across the northeast who are as excited as I am to be a part of something this cool!
A surprising revelation was that 4 out of 5 people that came to the table were runners! Who knew that there were so many veggie runners out there?!?! I'm hoping that people (with better knees than I) take up the torch and pull together a group running schedule once the weather gets better.
Other highlights from the fest include (in no particular order): Hangin' with Steve Allentown, Aumiller modeling the OA team kit, geeking out about old hardcore tee shirts, all the food/vendors were vegan.
Big thanks to Steve and Matt for camping out with me and spreading the OA gospel!

Hello Everyone!
Very excited about Organic Athlete and the possibility of being on a vegan cycling team (either road or track.) I didn't know if I should sign up as basic or racer, I assumed racer but I think basic might have been good enough, but it's cool, an extra $15 going to a good cause.
Matt emailed me about wanting to have a monthly meetup all winter, I am definitely for that! I hope to get out of this weekly or biweekly rides and monthly races for fun.
I am a bicycle mechanic in the spring/summer/fall and bicycle courier in the winter. If you see me on the streets carting around a New Amsterdam Project trike full of groceries give me a wave (I'm not hard to miss, I have white glasses...)
I'm healing up from a bicycle accident last week, otherwise I'd be at Bold Sprints, its a lot of fun and good sprinting experience if anyone wants to try it out. Track bike roller racing indoors at All Asia (Central Sq Cambridge) every other Sunday night.
My experience is messenger alley cats and roller racing. Can't wait to meet everyone else.

Member or Racing Member
Hey Dan,
I'm glad you found us, and are already in touch with Matt. I hope you heal up soon so you can get back to the good riding again.
As far as joining is concerned, please join as a racing member if you will be racing. There are some costs involved with us being an official USA Cycling club, and the little extra fee helps us cover these. Plus, as a bonus to you, you can get 20% off in the OA store as opposed to 10% for regular members.

Hey Justin,
I did sign up as a racing member. Can't wait for my knee to be in tip top shape, right now a little over a week since the accident it hurts to extend my right leg. Already saw a sports doctor about it and he okay'd me to ride bikes as of last Friday. Due to possible fork, headset, or head tube damage I am not riding my track bike till I have time to check it out thoroughly. Something is definitely wrong with the steering.
Since I've never raced before in a legal semipro setting, do I need to get a license?
I'll be in touch about
I'll be in touch about licenses, Dan. There's also clinics that we can do in the spring that explain the licensing/rules/categories of races. For now, heal that knee!
