Veg Festival in San Francisco
Last Saturday and Sunday we were in San Francisco for the Veg Festival. Believe it or don't, but the green van doesn't need to be pushed anymore to start. Yeah!
On Saturday there were more people than on Sunday, but it was nice to be at the booth and see all those people being interested in OrganicAthlete. Saturday the complete OA staff was at the festival: Bradley, Charity, Justin and myself. On Sunday Justin and I were there, and we got some help from OA members Emily and Flora. OrganicAthlete had two events on its schedule: a run/walk on Saturday and a bike ride on Sunday. For the walk 3 people showed up and Bradley took them for a tour in the botanical garden, where we were attacked by squirrels at a certain point. :) A couple of people were interested in doing the bike ride, but had no bikes. So we had to cancel the bike ride.
It was great to be out there, to meet all those people, and to meet OA pro-activist Robert Cheeke. I attended a couple of lectures, but Robert's lecture was the best, in my opinion. His passionate way of talking about his personal experiences was really awesome. And the content of his lecture was great too. Robert is really an amazing athlete and speaker.
By the way, I made it to the blog of vegan cookbook writer Sarah Kramer! Hopefully people will notice my OA-shirt. :)
Tomorrow I'm leaving for Los Angeles and then New York City, before returning all the way back to Belgium. I'll miss California and the OATC! THANKS to all OA members I've met on my trip, I had the time of my life!!! I'll do my best to get something started in Belgium.
